Starting fresh on the Fraser Coast is exciting — but we know the NDIS side of it can feel overwhelming. Your plan travels with you. And we’re already here, ready to make the transition as smooth as it can possibly be.
— Family from Brisbane
Moving is one of the most stressful things a family can do. When you’ve got an NDIS plan in the mix, the stakes are even higher — because a gap in support isn’t just an inconvenience, it can set your child or loved one back weeks.
We built Fraser Coast Disability Services because we lived this problem ourselves. Our sister needed support, and we couldn’t find anything on the Fraser Coast that actually fit. The waitlists were long. The services were impersonal. And we kept wondering why something this important felt so hard to access in our own community.
If you’re moving to Hervey Bay from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, or anywhere else in Queensland – we want to be the easiest part of your move. Call us before you’ve even packed a box. We’ll have an honest chat about what we can offer and start building a plan that’s ready for you when you arrive.
— The FCDS Founding Team
The good news: you don’t need to reapply for funding when you relocate. Your NDIS plan stays active when you move to Hervey Bay. What you do need is a new registered provider — and that’s exactly where we come in.
Let the NDIA know your new Hervey Bay or Maryborough address. Your plan remains valid — your location doesn't affect your funding.
Work with your current provider to close or transfer active service bookings. Your support coordinator can help manage this transition cleanly.
The earlier you contact us, the smoother the transition. We'll review your plan, discuss your needs, and have everything ready for moving day. No scramble, no gap.
Whether you’re looking for SIL vacancies in Hervey Bay, short-term accommodation while you get settled, or one-on-one daily support, FCDS has you covered. We’ll review your plan with you and be upfront if there are any gaps — no nasty surprises, ever.

We can connect you with OTs, speech pathologists, and other professionals in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. No cold-calling a directory on your own.
Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Pialba, Urraween, Torquay, Howard, Burrum Heads, Toogoom — wherever you land on the Fraser Coast, we're there.
Yes — your NDIS plan travels with you. You don’t need to reapply for funding. You’ll need to notify the NDIA of your new address, close your current service bookings, and set up new ones with FCDS. We’ll walk you through every step.
We ask a lot of questions before we start — and we actually listen to the answers. Every new participant goes through a thorough getting-to-know-you process. We match support workers on personality and fit, not just availability. You and your child or loved one will meet the worker before any commitment is made.
We’re a local, family-run business and our reputation in this community is everything. We’d rather say no upfront than set a family up for disappointment. Read our reviews, read our story, and then contact us to see if we are the right fit for you.
Current SIL availability changes regularly. The fastest way to find out is to call Josie directly on 0418 22 84 52.
Absolutely not — in fact, we encourage early contact. The earlier we connect, the better prepared we are for your arrival. Even if you’re still 6 months away from moving, a conversation now means there’s no scramble later. Give us a call whenever you’re ready.
It depends on the type of support — but for most individual supports and programs, we can have things in place within one to two weeks of your first conversation with us. SIL arrangements take longer to set up properly, which is exactly why we encourage families who are moving into SIL to contact us as early as possible — ideally two to three months before the move. The earlier we talk, the better we can prepare, and the less disruption your family experiences during the transition. If you’re working to a tight timeline, call us directly on 0418 22 84 52 and we’ll tell you honestly what’s achievable.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Reach out to our friendly team and we can find the answers for you.
